Meet BeBe — our sweet, shy little koala girl who is making wonderful progress, but still has a long journey ahead before she can return to the wild.
BeBe was spotted by tourists while walking the Forts Walk, alone with no mum nearby. The wonderful team from MI Wildlife Care, Hailey and Raph, responded quickly, rescued her, and brought her into the care of Magnetic Island Koala Hospital. With no mother found in the area, BeBe is believed to be an orphaned joey.
When BeBe first arrived, she weighed just 1.15kg. Today, thanks to dedicated care and ongoing support, she has grown to a healthy 2.3kg and has now graduated into the bigger “big girl” pen, where she’s beginning to build the strength and confidence she’ll need for life back in the wild.
While she’s still a very shy little girl, BeBe has settled beautifully into her new enclosure and is becoming more confident each week. Every milestone she reaches is a step closer to recovery — but she still needs ongoing treatment, care, and feeding support before she can be released.
💚 BeBe still has a long way to go — and she needs fosters like you.
By fostering BeBe, you are directly helping cover the costs of her food, rehabilitation, and daily care, giving her the best possible chance to return safely to the wild where she belongs.
Thank you for standing with BeBe and helping give her the future she deserves. 🐨🌿
