July is an Exciting month for QKC! Join us on our walks or come to the "Koala Kids Picnic"
We have a busy month ahead of us!
This coming Sunday we will host another of our popular koala spotting walks in the Maroochy Bushlands Botanical Gardens on the Sunshine Coast, looking for “Lizzie” the resident koala. Friends of the Maroochy Botanical Gardens will join and update us on the recent movements of Lizzie as she has been very active in the past couple of months. There is nothing quite like a walk in the bush seeing wild koalas, so join us for fitness and fun!
Tracey will be your host: Meeting at the Arts and Ecology Centre at 230pm Sunday 15th July at the Maroochy Bushlands Botanical Gardens in Tanawha.
RSVP if you plan to be there please RSVP at [email protected] 0416 651 769
Our Koala Kids Day Picnic is on the Sunday 23rd July 2017 from 930am to 1230pm at Lions Park, Gympie Terrace Noosaville. It’s a FREE Event and part of the Noosa Alive! festivities so we hope you will come along with the whole family for fun, food and smiles along the beautiful riverside in Noosa to celebrate our local wild koalas! For more info click here!
It will be a full day of entertainment and live animals courtesy of Wildlife HQ and guaranteed to make every child smile. The adults will thoroughly enjoy the music we have in store too! Special guest artists contributing their time and art on behalf of the wild koala include local legend Simon Russell Baker, the award wining Sam Shepard and the angelic harmonies of the Dennis Sisters.
The first 100 kids to arrive will receive a small plush koala, compliments of Queensland Koala Crusaders. Then bring them over to the QKC Art Tent where they can enter our Koala Art Competition to be judged on the day (there are some fabulous prizes to be won by your budding artist)!
If you can’t attend in person you can still help out or join our group here
Wild koalas are in crisis throughout Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT, and our work is made possible only by the generous donations from community members and supporters like yourselves. We will be celebrating our five year anniversary as a ‘voice for the koala’ and hope you will join us for a special day!
