Merry Koala Christmas and Happy 2018

_Gumnut.JPG

2017 was a very busy year for us at QKC and we raised awareness and much needed funds for koala food tree plantings for the coming year. We will announce our community planting days and workshops in 2018 along with a very big announcement that will help to give us Worldwide Recognition in our collaborative Koala Conservation efforts. We hope to become a model that will help others help koalas throughout Queensland and the habitats they reside in!

Our Koala Kids Day Art Competition was a great success and children from around the region as well as the world, competed for prizes and created lovely art whilst raising awareness for koalas! The NoosaAlive team supported our Koala Kids Day and we are very grateful. If you would like to help us publish the kids artwork, you can help us raise awareness today by becoming a member.

Our doodlejam was a great success and as our QKC team celebrated the year poolside yesterday, we were able to view the results, thanks to our wonderful Bernard Jean who brought his prized painting along to show his gratitude!

Our koala food tree plantation is growing rapidly in the rich soils at the Big Pineapple fields at WildlifeHQ As we continue to plant more trees for koalas, the future looks brighter and we see hope for our koalas in the wild as well as those in care. We will continue to be diligent in our pressure to hold government accountable and work in collaboration with other towards improved koala conservation in our state.

Thank you to our committed members and for those who have gone far and beyond to stay committed to "what is best for koalas". 2018 will bring exciting changes with our new and exciting projects.

DGR status update! We are now eligible for tax deductible gifts so if you are looking for that special something perhaps consider to Plant a Forest or Support a Carer. These are all ways in which our new team will be helping koalas in the coming years.

We have received a Grant from Noosa Council and we will be holding our first "Koala Community Awareness Rescue Initiative" workshop on Thursday the 18th January at RACV Resort Noosa from 6pm to 8pm. Details to follow so watch this space!

May 2018 bring greater awareness and more community connection for koalas! Have a safe and Happy Holiday and we will see you in the New Year!
